A mother cat with three kittens has taken in three orphaned ducklings and is now nursing and caring for them all. The Lally family from Clare Co Offaly, Ireland were surprised to see their cat displaying such maternal instincts towards the ducklings instead of harming them. According to Ronan Lally, the cat immediately began purring when the ducklings ran under her, and when lifted up, two of the ducklings were latched onto the cat. The Lallys are amazed at how the cat treats the ducklings as if they were her own kittens. They are curious to see how the cat will react as the yellow ducklings grow bigger.
