After their No. 1 player, Nick Pope, got hurt, the 33-year-old was linked with moves to both Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia and Newcastle, but neither deal came together.

There are newer rumors that he might be going back to his home country to join Real Betis.

During his time off, De Gea stayed in Manchester and watched Manchester United’s women play while he looked for a new job.

After sharing another video and a “loading” graphic of himself practicing on the field at their J.Davidson Stadium, De Gea has dropped another hints that he might be moving.

Also, Edwin van der Sar, a famous former United goalie, recently offered his backing to the former Atletico Madrid star.

The Dutch player talked about a similar situation he was in after leaving Juventus in 2001. He finally joined Fulham before going to Old Trafford and winning the Champions League.

“David, keep the faith and believe as I had something similar in 2001 and look what that brought me in the end!” Van der Sar wrote in response to another training video that De Gea shared.

Graeme Souness, a former player for Liverpool, recently said that United manager Erik ten Hag made a mistake when he let the goalkeeper leave for free and brought in Andre Onana.

“You need to set priorities,” he told her. You need to try to get better players where you need them most.
