Bill Walton is one of the many former players who doesn’t understand why Pippen has so much anger towards MJ.

Former NBA player and Hall-of-Famer Bill Walton is blown away by how Scottie Pippen has been treating Michael Jordan as of late.

Pippen, who was famously known as Jordan’s sidekick, didn’t hold back his anger after Jordan’s documentary, “The Last Dance,” premiered in April 2020. Since then, the 5-time champion called Jordan a horrible player and teammate and has been open about how disappointed he was with how the documentary was executed.

“I’m shocked and dismayed,” Walton said in his appearance on Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson’s podcast. “Those words are not strong enough to relate my feelings as the way that Scottie Pippen treats Michael Jordan. That’s just not right.”

Walton recalls the Bulls dynasty
One of the reasons why Walton is shocked and dismayed about Pippen’s recent comments on Jordan is because he witnessed the Chicago Bulls dynasty and how they won several championships together as a unit.

Walton was the NBC broadcaster of those games the Bulls competed in the Finals, so he was literally there watching and covering it up close. That’s why Walton never imagined that the duo’s relationship would get to this point.

“.. It was a remarkable privilege and honor to have that position and to witness the greatness of that team. I’m a team guy. I love the team game. That’s why I’m super happy with what happened with the Denver Nuggets. The team game, the passing game, the selflessness, that’s what always leads to the team’s dynamic success, and that’s what the Bulls had,” Walton added.

The uniqueness of the Bulls dynasty
Walton also mentioned that what made the Bulls dynasty so unique is the success of each player on those Bulls teams that won five championships. It wasn’t just Jordan that paved the way but also multiple Hall-of-Famers who left a mark in forming one of the greatest dynasties in sports history.

“They had a fantastic coach in Phil Jackson. They had an incredible city with a spectacular fanbase, and they had all these players, so many of them are in the Hall of Fame, Toni Kukoc Hall of Fame, Jerry Krause Hall of Fame, Scottie Pippen Hall of Fame, Tex Winter Hall of Fame, Dennis Rodman and at the end of the day, you have Michael Jordan who was a personification of excellence in all things on and off the court,” Walton said.

Only time will tell whether or not Pippen and Jordan make amends, but for now, there’s no doubt that the beef Pippen has on his former teammate has rubbed off multiple former players like Walton the wrong way.
