Being Tha Doggfather is one thing, but being a grandfather is another!
On Saturday, July 27, Snoop Dogg used a wholesome behind-the-scenes picture to reveal how he’s balancing his “grandfather duties” with his many roles at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
In the image, the “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper and Olympic torchbearer, 52, could be seen squatting down and tying his granddaughter’s Adidas sneakers as she stood up for him.
“Grandpa’s duties while at the Olympics 💕🇺🇸😘🔥,” Snoop captioned the post, which arrives just one day after he carried the Olympic torch through the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis during Friday’s opening ceremony.
The little girl’s father, Snoop’s son Cordell Broadus, also posted about the Olympics experience on his own Instagram, sharing the same photo and writing: “Medici Family @ the opening ceremony Daddy O accomplished another side mission the game is to be sold not told… 3 letters DNA ✅😤.”
Snoop is dad to sons Corde, 29, and Cordell, 27, as well as daughter Cori, 25, with his wife, Shante Broadus. He revealed on The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year that he has a “total of 12 grandkids,” and that they’re “different ages, ranges, sizes and I love them all the same way.”

“My grandpa was my best friend, and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well and I was able to outlive the circumstances,” Snoop said last year in an exclusive clip from Words + Music: From the Streets to the Suites shared with PEOPLE.
“Now I can look back — I can teach those who want to get to this level,” he continued. “Or at least give them a blueprint and help them avoid some of the traps that had to deal with.”
Snoop isn’t just serving as a torchbearer during the Olympics. NBC previously announced that the rapper will be assisting Olympics coverage for the network by providing “regular reports” throughout the event.
“I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris,” the rapper said in a statement. “It’s a celebration of skill, dedication and the pursuit of greatness.”
“We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix,” his statement continued. “It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?”

That being said, the torchbearing meant a lot to Snoop, who revealed that when he took on the role, he thought back to when Muhammad Ali famously lit the Olympic cauldron during the 1996 Atlanta Games.
“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there. This is my own version of it,” Snoop told NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico on July 24, per The Washington Post. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special.”
“This says a lot about America as far as where we’re at in this world,” he continued. “At the same time, it says a lot about France as far as connecting the dots and allowing me to do this. I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this.”
