Selena Gomez recently opened up about her initial plans to adopt and be a single mom, a path she considered before falling in love with music producer Benny Blanco. In a recent interview, Selena shared insights into her journey of self-discovery and evolving perspectives on relationships and happiness.

 

Selena explained that before meeting Benny, she had resolved to adopt by the age of 35 if she hadn’t found a suitable partner. Reflecting on her time alone, she said, “I was alone for five years, and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone, and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it.”

This period of solitude helped her master the art of being content with herself, a crucial lesson that now complements her relationship with Benny.

Addressing Benny’s recent public hints about marriage and starting a family, Selena remarked, “He can’t lie to save his life. If he’s asked a question, he’ll answer it.” Despite Benny’s openness, Selena emphasized that having a partner is not her only source of happiness.

 

“It’s a little irrelevant, only because he isn’t my only source of happiness,” she explained. Her years of self-sufficiency have taught her to find joy within herself.

 

Selena’s admiration for Benny extends beyond their romantic connection. She praised his resilience against public criticism and his unwavering support for her.

 

“He has such strength in him that none of that noise fazes him. It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon,” she stated confidently.

 

Their relationship, which began with a professional collaboration, blossomed into romance over time. Four years after working together on a song, Selena and Benny confirmed their relationship in December 2023.
