Life on the streets is tough for animals out there. They have to fend for themselves and search for food on their own, they face countless dangers daily and they can’t receive proper medical care once they’re sick. All they can do is just crying for help and sadly, only a few lucky ones can be heard.
This ginger tabby in Delray Beach, Florida was one of the not-so-many lucky street cats who cried and was noticed. The sick cat was unable to see due to severe mange and he cried his heart out because of the torturous pain. As he was meowing pathetically, a lady nearby was kind enough to call a local animal rescuer for help.
Animal Friends Project’s founder Carmen Weinberg immediately headed out after hearing about his case. She didn’t even have to set her trap, the poor cat approached her himself. He used his own way to beg for help. All Carmen had to do was only putting some food in front of the trap and then the cat smoothly went in.
Carmen named the cat Simba as some of her Instagram followers suggested.
Under Carmen’s love and care, Simba gradually recovered from his horrible situation. He looked better and better each day and started to regain his ability to see. To Carmen’s relief, the cat had a great appetite and gained weight quite steady.
Despite his grumpy face, Simba was actually a sweet cat at heart. He loved to have his head scratched and never said no to belly rubs.
However, he still didn’t allow his rescuers to pick up easily. Carmen assumed that this might be a feral cat who needed a bit more socialization so after he totally recovered, they managed to find him an amazing foster mom – Alicia.
Needless to say, Simba had transformed into a total love bug in his foster home.
After winning so many hearts on social media, the endearing boy later found himself a loving forever home. He is well on his way to living a spectacular life.
