A man accidentally noticed a cat wandering lonely and sad at a bus stop on the highway …

Davy Gallant from Quebec, Canada was in the car with his son Toby. Together they spotted an unfortunate creature beside the road, just bones covered in leather.

“There are only eight houses along the 5-kilometer road… And the traffic is not that big. As always at the sight of abandoned animals, we stopped,” Davy said.

The first animal that the man saved, he found here. Over the years, Davy has managed to rescue several street dogs and cats. One of the rescued animals, by the way, became his own – a cat named Kus-Kus lived in the family for 14 years until she died of old age.

“We give the animal a few minutes to make contact with us. If the vagrants come running, we pick them up and try to find a home. If the animals avoid us and hide, then we simply warn local shelters to send someone to help ,” says Davy.

And at that moment, when the man stopped his car, a tiny kitten rushed to him, begging a stranger for help. The girl was shabby, emaciated and tortured, but at the same time it was felt that she was kind, gentle and affectionate – this baby purred and purred without ceasing.

Toby and his dad decided to bring the kitten to their home, where they immediately gave him a nickname – Barley. The kitten had not eaten for so long that he could barely swallow food. In order to somehow help the girl, people soaked the pieces in liquid, softening them.

After living on the street, it’s no surprise that the baby was covered in fleas from head to toe. To get rid of them, the family thoroughly bathed the kitten in warm water, and then removed those insects with tweezers that did not wash off under the stream. A few days later, they managed to completely clear Barley of parasites.

And she turned into an even more affectionate kitty that endlessly sat on people’s laps, purring softly!

“We thought she was 3 months old, but the vet looked at her teeth and said she was at least 6-7. Barley was malnourished for a very long time , ” Davy said.

The family could not believe that such a tiny girl was born more than six months ago! And this only confirmed more strongly that care and attention are vitally important for a cat now.

Three months have passed since then. People could not part with the affectionate Barley they fell in love with. They liked her even skinny and shabby, and now she has turned into a magnificent fluffy cat!

“Her life is amazing now… She shares a home with her family, Kinoya the cat, rescued dogs Bella and Mike ,” Davy shares.

“ The day before we found her, my daughter asked if we could get a cat ,” the man says. “ We all looked at her and said that when the time comes, the cat will come to us .” 

And so it happened!

“This is just the cutest cat! We love her very much,” says the family, which was lucky enough to encounter a wonderful animal.

Sometimes you just need to go with the flow, and what you are looking for will definitely find you!
