Brian Windhorst doesn’t believe LeBron James can carry the Los Angeles Lakers without consistency from Anthony Davis

LeBron James is one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He has won four NBA championships, four NBA MVP awards, and four NBA Finals MVP awards. However, even LeBron James needs help to win a championship. And according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, that help needs to come from Anthony Davis if the Los Angeles Lakers are going to have any chance of winning a title in 2023.

“I don’t think LeBron can carry them anymore,” Windhorst said on his podcast, Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective. “He’s still a great player, but he’s not the same player he once was. And if Anthony Davis isn’t playing at a high level, they’re not going to be a contender.”

Davis has been inconsistent throughout his career, and he missed 40 games due to injury last season. When he is healthy, he is one of the best players in the NBA. But he has also shown a tendency to get hurt, and he has been criticized for his lack of effort at times.

If the Lakers are going to win a championship this year, they need Davis to be healthy and playing at his best. He needs to be a dominant force on both ends of the court. If he can do that, the Lakers will be a dangerous team.

But if Davis is not healthy or if he is not playing at his best, the Lakers will be in trouble. James is still a great player, but he is not the same player he once was. And the Lakers don’t have enough other good players to make up for a lack of production from Davis.

The Lakers are a talented team, but they are also a flawed team. And if their flaws are exposed, they could be in for a disappointing season.
