A cat victim of voluntary burns is fighting to overcome the pain and recover with the help of veterinarians and an animal protection association, reports WHIO TV7 .

“ Our boy is back ,” rejoiced on his Facebook page the refuge Our Farm Sanctuary , located in Tipp City in the State of Ohio (United States).

Until this announcement made on April 30, 2023, the unfortunate Fotis was staying in a veterinary clinic where he was being given intensive care because of the terrible lesions he had been caused.

The quadruped would, in all likelihood, have been the target of deliberate acts. He was near an apartment building when someone sprayed him with an accelerant before throwing a lit cigarette at him.

The feline was burned all over its body. He had been discovered hiding under a car by one of the Our Farm Sanctuary volunteers , who then took him to the veterinary emergency room.

According to the latest news, Fotis ‘ vital parameters are quite reassuring and his appetite is improving. The shelter team is gradually removing his bandages, but the lesions he suffers in his ears will probably require surgery.

Hope is allowed

It is therefore a measured optimism that prevails for the moment within the Our Farm Sanctuary . Fotis does not carry an identification chip , so volunteers do not know if he already has a family or if he was a wanderer.

They continue his care, while the Trotwood police , who have taken up the case, continue to investigate in the hope of identifying the perpetrator of this despicable act so that he can answer for it in court.

If no owner appears and as soon as his state of health allows it, Fotis can be entrusted to a foster family and then offered for adoption. At the shelter, everyone hopes to see him get a fresh start after this traumatic ordeal.
