Manchester United stutter as they can only manage one win in their last seven Premier League matches

Manchester United’s stuttering form continued on Sunday as they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park. The result leaves United in sixth place in the table, five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

United took the lead in the 35th minute through Cristiano Ronaldo, but Everton equalized just two minutes later through Demarai Gray. The Red Devils had plenty of chances to win the game in the second half, but they were unable to take them.

The draw is a major blow to United’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. They are now five points behind Tottenham Hotspur, and they have a much tougher run of fixtures in the remaining games of the season.

United’s performance against Everton was far from convincing. They were defensively shaky, and they lacked creativity in midfield. Manager Erik ten Hag will be under pressure to improve his side’s form if they want to have any chance of securing a top-four finish.

Here are some of the key talking points from the match:

  • Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 18th goal of the season, but he missed a number of good chances to put the game to bed.
  • Everton defended well and took their chances when they came along.
  • Manchester United are now winless in their last four Premier League matches.

It remains to be seen whether United can turn their season around. They have a tough run of fixtures in the remaining games of the season, and they will need to be at their best if they want to secure a top-four finish.
